PRIVACY POLICY

OVERVIEW
Reverie of Fear ("we", "us") is a co-op horror deck-building game. This policy explains what information we collect when you use our website at reverieoffear.com and the Reverie of Fear game client, how we use it, and the choices you have.
The short version: we collect what we need to run accounts, multiplayer, and the game itself — and nothing we don't. We do not sell your personal information.
INFORMATION WE COLLECT
Account information. When you create an account you provide an email address and password, or sign in through a third-party provider (Discord, Google, or Steam). From those providers we receive basic profile information such as your account identifier, display name, and email address. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and are never stored in plain text.
Game data. We store data tied to your account that makes the game work: your card collection, saved decks, character loadouts, match history, and unlock progress.
Feedback and reports. If you submit feedback or a bug report from the game or website, we store the text you write along with basic context (such as the game version) to help us investigate.
Technical data. Like most online services, our servers automatically receive technical information when you connect — IP address, device and connection details, and server logs. Multiplayer session data (your position, actions, and chat/emotes during a match) is processed in real time to run the game.
ANALYTICS
The website uses Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to understand aggregate traffic and performance. These tools do not use cookies and do not track you across other sites; data is anonymized and reported in aggregate.
HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
We use the information above to operate your account and the game, sync your collection and decks across devices, run multiplayer matches, respond to feedback and bug reports, keep the service secure and prevent abuse, and understand how the game and website perform so we can improve them.
THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
We rely on a small set of service providers to run Reverie of Fear, each of which processes data only as needed to provide their service: Supabase (accounts, authentication, and game data storage), Vercel (website hosting and analytics), Fly.io (multiplayer game servers), Steam (game distribution and Steam sign-in), and Discord and Google (optional sign-in providers). The website also loads fonts from Google Fonts.
If you play through Steam, Valve's own privacy policy applies to your Steam account and any data Steam collects independently of us.
DATA RETENTION & DELETION
We keep your account and game data for as long as your account exists. Multiplayer session data is transient and is not retained after a match beyond standard server logs, which are kept briefly for debugging and security.
You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time via our contact page. We will delete your personal information unless we are required to keep it for legal or security reasons.
CHILDREN
Reverie of Fear is a horror game and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this policy as the game evolves. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be called out on the website.
